Golf Events

At Francis House we are extremely grateful for the tremendous ongoing support we receive from our local Golf Clubs.

We are privileged to have been chosen by the Captains and Lady Captains of many clubs across the north west as their charity of the year.  This support has been built upon year-on-year, and upheld through the many fundraising efforts of golf days, overseas golfing trips, dinners and awards evenings.

Please get in contact with our Fundraising Team on 0161 443 2200 if you would like to get involved in golf fundraising.

Highlights from 2017

Stockport Golf Day

Sixteen enthusiastic teams took part in the 25th Annual Francis House golf tournament at the prestigious Stockport Golf Club on 7th September 2017.

The popular day was very kindly sponsored once again by HAE Group.

A fantastic total of £6,701 was raised and a big thank you to all the players, sponsors, prize donors and Stockport Golf Club.

If you would like to get involved or are interested in entering a team for next year, the event is on Thursday 6th September 2018. Please contact Emma or Lucy in the fundraising office on 0161 443 2200.

Francis Kirk Group Golf Day

Denton-based Francis Kirk Group held a successful charity golf day raising an impressive £5,500 for Francis House.

Part of a two-year fundraising initiative, the event at Davenport Golf Club attracted more than 80 golfers and was packed with opportunities to win spot prizes like nearest the pin on the four par threes, longest drive on the 11th hole and Beat the Pro on the scenic 14th.

Francis Kirk attracted sponsors for every hole and sourced a great selection of auction and raffle prizes with the support of Old Trafford, Ollier Photography and Arighi Bianchi in Macclesfield.

Enjoying a sunny afternoon the golfers also got the chance to use Mulligans, another fundraising initiative, whereby up to 3 shots can be taken again for £5.

Managing director of Francis Kirk Group Tom Kirk said: “The weather was perfect and we had fantastic support from players and sponsors. It was a pleasure to organise.”

Francis House events manager Lucy Thompson, who helped run the day, thanked everyone involved: “The atmosphere was great and people were very generous with their donations and bids. All the money raised will go directly to the hospice which gives the children, young adults and their families the care they need. We could not do it without monies raised from events like this.”

Francis Kirk Group is a fifth generation family business and will celebrate 150 years in business in 2018. From its purpose-built 24,000 sq ft warehouse and HQ in Denton the company stocks an extensive range of engineering products including PPE, clothing and abrasives and power tools to customers locally, nationally and internationally and has a manufacturing site in Pune, India.

“We wanted to start a golf day that we could run again next year, even bigger and better to mark a special year for us. We were blown away by the enthusiasm of everyone who got involved,” added Tom.
