Volunteers

Francis House has a team of 80 plus unpaid staff and volunteers who are essential to the smooth running of the Hospice.

Volunteers carry out duties in administration, accounting, reception work, housekeeping and kitchen duties. In addition we have many volunteers who assist the fundraising team, organising fundraising events, collecting, public speaking and taking part in fundraising activities.
 
To all of these people we are constantly grateful and
send our thanks for their commitment and devotion to Francis House.
 
You can volunteer to help in the following ways:
 
• In House - To commence work in the hospice you must be between the ages of 18 and 70 (once you are over 70 your situation will be reviewed annually). Please note volunteers will not be involved in direct childcare

• Fundraising - If you wish to organise an event, volunteer to help in the office or with collections etc. Please contact Peter Forster, Fundraising Office Manager, Blade House, Battersea Road, Heaton Mersey, SK4 3EA. 0161 443 2200 peter.forster@francishouse.org.uk 

• Charity Shop - If you wish to volunteer to help in the charity shop please contact Mr Alan Gillatt, Charity Shop Manager, 184 Burnage Lane, Burnage, M19 1EF. 0161 248 4005

• Student Placements - Students wishing to be considered must be over 18 years of age and be undertaking a recognised medical, nursing or social work course.  Please contact the Education Co-ordinator on 0161 434 4118 for further information.

We have a large number of applicants particularly for work in-house, it may be several months before you are contacted.
