Pupils’ concert cashes in for Francis House

A Rochdale school’s Christmas Concert with legendary Irish comedian Jimmy Cricket, raised hundreds of pounds for Francis House.

Pupils from St Patrick’s RC Primary School choir held a Christmas concert at the end of the school day on December 12 last year.  Revd David Ireland, chief executive at Francis House visited the school in February to collect a cheque from the pupils, and teachers Jen Townson and Katie McCreevey.

The sale of concert tickets raised £350 for the hospice that provides respite care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions and support for their families.

The school choir also performed with Jimmy at the launch of his Christmas charity CD ‘Santa bring my wellies back to me’ which was held at Francis House in October, 2016.

After entertaining volunteers and parents of some of the children cared for at Francis House, long-standing supporter of Francis House Jimmy said: Everyone had a fun time and the choir not only sung superbly but their enthusiasm was also great!”
