Knit a Chick for 2016 Each year we appeal to supporters to send in little knitted chicks that can cover chocolate eggs and be sold across Manchester to raise funds for the hospice.  More than 8,250 knitted chicks were sold in 2015 raising a staggering £11,133; the highest amount raised

Manchester Brewery Joseph Holt to Back Francis House

Manchester Brewery Joseph Holt has chosen to support Francis House with a year of fundraising. From October 1st, every pub will have a collection tin on the bar as well as Francis House merchandise. In addition, family fun days, beer festivals and auction nights will be held throughout the year.

Crafters Respond to Plea for Knitted Chicks

The Francis House Easter Chick Knit 2015 resulted in 8,251 woolly creations from as far away as France, Spain, South Africa and Australia, winging their way into the hospice, topping last year's total of 6,300 chicks. Visit from TV Auctioneer

TV auctioneer and antiques expert Charles Hanson, a regular on the BBC’s The Antiques Road Trip and Bargain Hunt, left his gavel at home for a day to visit Francis House.   In December 2014, Charles presided over the auction at our gala charity ball held at Mere Golf Resort.

Tributes to Former Francis House Chairman Robin Wood

Former chairman of Francis House Robin Wood, died aged 85 on 5th January 2015 after becoming unwell over Christmas.  Robin Wood, from Ilkley only recently retired from the Chairmanship of the Board of Trustees in July, 2014 after serving 22 years. Robin chaired his first meeting on February 22, 1992.
