Gill Bevin Director of Care (Registered Manager)
The team is led by Gill Bevin. Gill holds a dual qualification: Registered Sick Children’s Nurse and Registered General Nurse. She has thirty years nursing experience in the care of children and young adults. Gill worked at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital in a number of specialities including Intensive Care, Neurology, Oncology and Endocrinology. She began work at Francis House in July 2002 and has worked on the Care team with additional time on the Homecare team and with the Seasons Sibling Support Group.
Tracey Potts Clinical Lead at Francis House
Tracey has a dual qualification as an Enrolled General Nurse and Registered Sick Children’s Nurse. She also has a Family Planning qualification and a certificate in Counselling Skills. Tracey previously worked for Stockport Health Authority on adult medical, children’s wards and as a School Nurse. She first joined the Francis House team in 2002 and worked for four years on the Care team (including time on the Bereavement team). From 2006-2010 she worked on the Stockport Community Nurse Team before re-joining Francis House. Shortly after her return she joined the Senior Team and within two years took over as Clinical Lead of the developing teenage, young adults unit. Working alongside Natalie Hands she took over the role of Clinical Lead of Francis House in May 2017.
Sharon Doodson Clinical Lead at Francis House
Sharon has a Diploma in Professional Nursing from Manchester University. She is a Registered Nurse – Adult and completed a Palliative Care Course in 2014. Since qualifying Sharon has worked at Willow Wood Hospice, Accident and Emergency for Pennine Acute Trust and for Stockport NHS Foundation as a District Nurse for people in their own homes. Whilst on the District Nurse team she was the Palliative Care Link Nurse. She joined the Francis House Team in February 2015 becoming a member of the Senior Team in December 2015. Sharon was appointed Clinical Lead of Francis Lodge in September 2016 taking over the role after working alongside Tracey Potts.
Linda Flowers Clinical Lead at Francis Lodge
Linda is NNEB RGN RSCN. Having worked as a community nurse with adults she moved in 2000 to be clinic based working with special needs children and their families. In 2003 she moved to Regent House to head a ‘mini team’ of special school nurses working on health promotion, screening and immunisation. She joined the Francis House team in September 2008 and was appointed to a Senior post in February 2012.
Jackie qualified as a Registered Nurse learning Disabilities RNMH and a Registered Nurse (Child Branch) RN (Child) in 1989 after gaining experience as a student nurse in Bristol. Jackie became Deputy House Leader at a respite care home for children with special needs. She joined the Francis House team in 1992, very soon after our opening. Jackie has had a particular interest in the work with siblings and particularly the ‘Seasons’ activities for brothers and sisters. She has a certificate in counselling and joined the Senior team in 2013.
Steve started life in the family engineering business working as a metal finisher for 27 years. Following redundancy he made a complete career change and worked as a Support Worker for Adults with Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviour. He obtained a Learning Disabilities Qualification (L.D.Q.) in 2009 and has completed courses in Aggression Management and Dispensing and Administering Medicines. Steve joined the Francis House team in 2010. Steve has worked with siblings and particularly with ‘Shining Stars’ activities and joined the Senior team in 2015.
Having completed ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels Andrew had a variety of jobs before joining the Francis House team in 1996. Andrew’s long experience at Francis House means that he is well known to all of the families and has developed a good expertise in their conditions and their care and support needs. Andrew was appointed to a position on the Senior team in December 2015.
Laura has a Diploma in Nursing with Advanced Standing – Children. She enrolled as a Registered Nurse – Children in 2006. She completed an Implementing Leadership and Management Course in 2014. Following registration she worked at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospice on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit becoming a Junior Sister in 2013. She joined the Francis House team in February 2016 and was appointed to the Senior team in September 2016.

The Accounts office is managed by Pauline Armitage and Jane Wallace with a small group of dedicated volunteers.
Francis House is also very grateful to the 100 plus volunteers who give up their time to help with reception duties, work in the kitchen, administration duties and who help at fundraising events.
