Mr Mohamed Al Fayed has been a long-standing supporter of Francis House and became involved after he met Kirsty Howard when she was six years old. Kirsty is still a regular visitor to Francis House and in September celebrated her 18th birthday, having been told at the age of four she had just weeks to live.
Mr Al Fayed, through the AlFayed Charitable Foundation (ACF) pays the salary of a senior nuse, known as the Camilla Nurse and makes a sizeable monthly donation.
“Francis House is an inspirational children’s hospice that helps terminally ill children and their families make the most of the precious time left they have together. When I first visited I was moved by the courage of a little girl called Kirsty Howard. Francis House is full of young people whose lives will be cut short because of conditions or illness, but the atmostphere had so much life and happiness and it was clear what an amazing place it is. I have supported Francis House for years now and will make sure it always receives support from my Foundation.”
