Knitters needed for annual Chick Appeal

Calling out for knitters in time for Easter.

At Francis House we are already looking ahead to Easter and once again appealing for knitters to support our Easter Chick Appeal.

With the help of 700 knitters the chick knit raised more than £74,000 in 2019 and we want to surpass this in 2020!

The Easter campaign makes a big difference to the hospice. With running costs of £4.7 million a year, we rely on fundraising ventures like this one to continue to expand and develop our services supporting the families of children and young adults with life-limiting ansd life-threatening conditions.

Knitting and crochet patterns for chicks and bunnies, are now available, and finished items must arrive at the hospice on Parrswood Road before 16th March 2020. This will ensure enough time to fill the chicks with a creme egg to sell at schools for £1 each before the Easter holidays.

"We are often asked by knitters whether they need to include the Creme Eggs in their parcel of chicks. The answer is no - it’s absolutely fine to send the chicks empty. However, eggs or donations towards their cost, is always hugely appreciated!"
