Christmas Message

From Francis House CEO Rachael Taylor

At a time of year that can feel full of lists, plans, and preparations, it’s important to take a moment to reflect on what matters most, to appreciate the people around us and enjoy the warmth of being together.

Christmas has always been a time for reflection and hope. This year, many communities near and far continue to face conflict, hardship, and struggle. Our hearts go out to those living with fear, separation, and loss, and we hold in mind a wish for peace, understanding, and compassion across all nations and peoples this Christmas.

The Christmas story, in all its many forms and traditions, carries a timeless message: that love, kindness, and unity can inspire light in even the darkest places.

This festive season we’ve been delighted to welcome lots of Christmas visitors, including a pantomime, animals of all shapes and sizes, and some souped-up Subarus bringing plenty of cheer!

Behind the scenes we’ve been working hard to ensure our families have the best experience they can with us. We’ve had a new roof, new internal and external doors, and parent flats and shared kitchen have been refreshed with a neutral and calm approach so that parents can fully relax.  In the New Year new baths will be installed and the sensory rooms will be receiving an update as we know how much the children and young people enjoy their time in them.

As we come to the end of another incredibly busy year, I wanted to take a moment to say a huge thank you to the staff, trustees, volunteers and supporters of Francis House.

Your hard work, compassion, and dedication make an enormous difference to the children and families we support, and I am so grateful for everything you do.

Francis House provides comfort, care, and love to children, young people, and their families during the most challenging times.

From all of us at Francis House, we wish you peace, warmth, and happiness this Christmas and beyond. Thank you for being here, for your kindness, and for your support. We hope you enjoy a wonderful Christmas.

Rachael
