Enchantment at the Ladies Lunch

There was an air of enchantment at the Principal Hotel, in Manchester, at the Francis House summer ladies lunch.

Diners at the ladies lunch

One hundred guests sipped Strawberry Prosecco and Elderflower Collins, whilst browsing stalls including Jewellery by Deanne, Sweet Charity Cookies and Cheshire Home Fragrance.

The enchanted theme continued in a room reminiscent of a mystical forest thanks to sycamore tree blocks donated by Sabre Tree Surgery and decoration by Entertainment Today Event Specialists.

Dramatic centrepieces used white twigs, moss and candles together with ivy handpicked from the Francis House garden.

Goody bags were generously donated by L’Oréal, Lottie of London, Clive Christian, Karen Clarke Therapies and Michael Bublé Fragrances.

Supporters from Chep, Cardinal Maritime, Lowry Outlet and Ivanti modelled a range of stunning summer dresses in a fashion show designed by Fuzzy Goose Boutique.

Music and entertainment

Greatest Hits radio presenter and DJ Darren Proctor kept guests entertained with his unique mix of music and fun games that guaranteed smiles around the room.

Acoustic singer song-writer Liam McClair provided musical entertainment and the Barricade Boys packed the dance floor with their energetic mix of musical genres.

Volunteers from Chep, Barclays and Ivanti aided in selling raffle tickets and merchandise. Due to their hard work, bidders in the auction took home a range of glamorous prizes including: a Champagne Afternoon tea at the Hilton Cloud 23, signed Spice Girls picture and dinner cooked at the home of John Christophe Novelli.

The event raised £5,600 for the hospice, which will go towards the day-to-day running costs.

"We had such a lovely day. Everyone really enjoyed themselves and there was a great atmosphere throughout. We can’t thank everyone enough for showing their support for the children, young people and their families.”

Lucy Thompson, Francis House event manager
