Hale on Mersey to Hale, Cheshire, L24 4AZ
Sunday 10 May 26 7:45 am - 6:00 pm
One for the walking enthusiasts and first timers alike, The Giant Walk is a fully supported 42km route beginning in Hale on Mersey and concluding in Hale, Cheshire.
From the start point at Hale Lighthouse on the Mersey Estuary, the route takes in the beautiful Mersey Way, the Manchester Ship Canal, and the sheltered Trans Pennine Trail, before looping back through Lymm and Dunham to finish at the Millennium Clock in Hale. Along the way, walkers pass the iconic Giant Childe of Hale statue and enjoy long, scenic waterside stretches.
The walk has very little incline and is split into four manageable sections, with 5–6 planned rests, picnic/snacks and toilet stops throughout the day. A lunch stop (lunch not provided) takes place at the halfway point in the picturesque village of Stockton Heath.
