Housebuilder donates £1,500 to Francis House

Barratt Homes Manchester continues their support of Francis House with extra funding.

Didsbury-based Barratt Homes Manchester has built on its partnership with Francis House, making a £1,500 donation towards its respite and palliative care for children, teenagers and young adults.

Currently supporting over 435 families in Greater Manchester, the charity works with young people who have life-shortening or life-threatening conditions, including the necessary support and short-term rest for their families.

Since 2010, Barratt Homes Manchester has raised over £120,000 to support the hospice to carry on providing its invaluable services.

Julie Williams, Fundraising Manager at Francis House said: “As the demand for our care continues to grow, we must raise millions of pounds each year to ensure that every family who needs us can access our support free of charge.

“As a charity, we rely heavily on voluntary donations to fund our services and provide the specialist equipment needed in the hospice. We have been one of Barratt Homes Manchester’s chosen charities for many years and really appreciate its support.”

The donation from Barratt Homes was made through its Community Fund scheme via The Barratt Redrow Foundation. It is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the areas in which the housebuilder operates.

The Barratt Redrow Foundation is celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2026. Since its launch, it has committed £20 million to charities and good causes, supported over 2,000 different charities and is estimated to have directly impacted 100,000 young people each year.

Francis House Children’s Hospice provides holistic care in a home from home environment. Support is offered to the whole family and includes physical, emotional and psychological care from a dedicated multi-disciplinary care team.

In addition to respite care the teams at the hospice also provide homecare and community support.
