Despite the on-going impact Covid-19 is having on fundraising activities at Francis House, here are three ways that you can get involved and help raise much-needed funds.
If running is your thing then we have a couple of events that might be right up your street!
London Marathon
First off, a fantastic opportunity for anyone dreaming of running in this year’s prestigious Virgin Money London Marathon. With one charity place left up for grabs you could be joining 50,000 participants taking on the traditional course from London’s Blackheath to The Mall on Sunday, October 3. For information on registration fees and fundraising target visit our London Marathon page.
Great Manchester Run
Closer to home, our discounted charity places are filling up fast for the awesome Great Manchester Run. For an event fee of £30 for the 10k route and £35 for the Half Marathon, you will aim to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship to help support the children and families of Francis House. To take part in the North West’s most popular running event and the biggest 10km run in Europe on Sunday, September 26, sign up now via Eventbrite
If chocolate and cute fluffy chicks are more your thing then check out our Easter Chick Appeal – the hospice’s biggest annual Easter fundraising event!
The hugely popular appeal sees thousands of knitted Easter chicks filled with a crème egg sold in schools, stores, and businesses across Greater Manchester to raise funds. Although significantly impacted by the Coronavirus outbreak, thousands of chicks are once again ready to find new homes and the hospice is urging schools, nurseries, offices, and shops to sell the chicks for £1 each. Chicks, bunnies, collection tubs and posters are supplied. Ready to kick-start your chick selling? Visit our Easter Chick Knit page.
If you live in Wythenshawe, Northenden or Didsbury, you could help raise vital funds whilst you shop. Francis House has been selected as a beneficiary of the Co-op Local Community Fund and is linked to food stores and funeral care branches in your area.
By becoming a Co-op member and by choosing Francis House as your cause to support, you can earn rewards and make a real difference to your local children’s hospice when you buy selected products and services. Join Co-op for £1 and earn rewards for you and your community. To find out more visit the Francis House cause page on the Co-op membership website.
