Celebrity-Themed Sing-Off Raises £25,000 for Francis House

A Stars In Their Eyes-inspired charity event held at The Bowdon Rooms has raised an impressive £25,000 in support of Francis House Children’s Hospice.

Mirroring the format of the popular ITV talent show, where amateur performers take on the personas of famous musicians, seven lookalike contestants hit the stage to perform iconic hits. The line-up featured tributes to Elton John, Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars, Freddie Mercury, Cher, Liam Gallagher and Dua Lipa.

An enthusiastic audience of 120 guests cast their votes, and in a closely contested finish – separated by just two votes—Michael Winniczuk, performing as Liam Gallagher, was declared the winner.

Zeffi Johnson from the Francis House fundraising team described the evening as a “huge hit,” and extended heartfelt thanks to everyone involved – including event host DJ Tom Finkill, the contestants, and their supporters.

She added: “It costs around £13,150 a day to operate the hospice, which provides essential services such as respite care, homecare, day care, end-of-life care, emotional support and bereavement support to local children and their families. This incredible £25,000 will go a long way in helping us continue to offer the care these families so desperately need.”
