Bowdon Cricket, Hockey and Squash Club has announced plans for a spectacular day of cricket and entertainment in support of Francis House.
The picturesque South Downs Road club is to host the T20 event on Friday, June 28, and will offer ticket goers the chance to watch and mingle with some of England’s finest cricketers in an action-packed afternoon.
Bowdon Cricket club players will face ex England legends including Mark Ramprakash MBE, Jonathon Trott, Matthew Hoggard and Glen Chapple in a fast paced Twenty20 game.
Event organiser and Chair of Bowdon Cricket Club Dominic Ball said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the local community to come together and watch a great game of cricket involving some of England’s finest ex-cricketers whilst all the time raising money for Francis House. An absolute win-win in my view.”
Local schools and families can experience a unique junior coaching session on the field by three of the PCA England Masters players.
The club’s licenced bar will be open throughout the day along with a BBQ, artisan food and drink stalls and Francis House merchandise stall.
Dominic is also supporting the hospice in his capacity as Managing Director of DCS Solutions that has an office based in Oldham. In June a group of employees are tackling the three highest peaks in Britain in a sponsored 24 hour challenge.
“We are really proud to be supporting Francis House Children’s Hospice this year. At DCS, we believe businesses have an obligation to its local community. The 3 Peaks Challenge is our way of doing our bit and hopefully raising some money for a great charity,” added Dominic.
