Rainbow Road – 5km Community Art Tile Trail
A vibrant community art trail connecting Heaton Mersey and Didsbury has been launched.
Monday 15th June 2026
On a glorious day walkers turned up in their hundreds to take part in the return of our popular sponsored walk taking in the famous Cheshire Three Peaks. Experienced fell walkers, teams of local businesses, families and individuals tackled the 13.75 mile circular route taking in the famous three peaks of Cheshire – Tegg’s Nose, Shutlingsloe and Shining Tor. There was also the option of a shorter, gentler six and a half mile walk through the Macclesfield Forest.
This year the route was planned by Francis House volunteer Neil Astill, Senior Manager at RBS Group PLC and an experienced hill walker. The walk was originally organised by Cheshire businessman Maurice Ireland who sent on to raise more than £100,000,00 for the hospice. The Cat & Fille pub kindly provided bacon butties at one of the checkpoints along the longer walk. We are already planning next years walk so keep the second Sunday of June free!
