Christmas trees from fifty organisations including the cast of Cold Feet, Coronation Street, and signed baubles from the players of Manchester City and Manchester United, will be on display from Saturday 26th October until Sunday 8th December.

Trees packed with goodies and decorated by local organisations, sporting clubs and groups, are up for grabs to the highest bidder, with some trees fetching hundreds of pounds each.

Since its beginnings twelve years ago, the project unique to Manchester, has raised in excess of £245k for Francis House, the north west children’s hospice.

This year’s participants also include TUI holidays, Ivanti, Mottram Hall and Eccles Cakes WI with an Alice in Wonderland themed tree.

Mary Gillatt, Francis House fundraiser said: “We’re excited to welcome the new tree sponsors as well as seeing old friends too. This year the variety of trees is greater than ever.  We have trees for sports fans and TV fans, trees with lots of bling and sparkle and even a tree dedicated to superheroes.  There really is something for everyone.”

For the thirteenth year running, Lowry Outlet has generously donated a retail unit to the hospice, to become home to the stunning display for six weeks in the run up to Christmas.

Funds raised will help towards providing quality care in a home from home environment to the families of children, teenagers and young adults with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.

The Festival of Trees opens on Saturday, Oct 26 and runs for six weeks until Sunday, Dec 8.
