Francis House Children’s Hospice and The Forum Theatre received almost £2,000 each from donations made by patrons who attended the Christmas pantomime in Romiley last year.

Twirly Productions brought “Rapunzel” to Stockport as pantomime returned to The Forum for the first time in three years to delight thousands of children and adults from across the borough.

A total of £3760.86 in donations were split equally between the venue, also a Registered Charity and Francis House.

"We were thrilled to receive such a generous donation from the families who came to see our pantomime. It is such a challenging time for everyone, so we really appreciate every penny that was thrown into the donation buckets."

Darren Stannage, The Forum Theatre

Darren added: ” Theatres have struggled so much due to the pandemic and we were just delighted to throw open our doors to pantomime again, which for so many children is their very first experience of live theatre!  A massive thank you to the cast and crew from Rapunzel who were brilliant.”

"There was no booing or hissing but a huge wonderful cheer for the incredible amount raised from the retiring collections from the pantomime."

Kate Puc, Francis House fundraising officer

Kate added: “Thank you very much indeed for choosing Francis House as your charity beneficiary. Our sincere thanks must go to the audiences who gave so generously as they made there way to the exits. We can only imagine the acting must have been amazing to help raise this phenomenal amount. With this gift we can continue our work providing care to children with life-limiting conditions and their families and funding the day-to-day running costs of Francis House Children’s Hospice. Every penny really does count.”

Twirly productions will be returning to The Forum Theatre in April with their next family show “Beauty and The Beast” to book tickets click here
