Great Manchester Run – 10K & Half Marathon

Not only the North West’s most popular running event, it’s the biggest 10km run in Europe!

Take your pick from the incredible 10k and half marathon routes through the city centre and run in support of your local children’s hospice, Francis House.

We are looking for supporters of all abilities to take part, whether it’s your very first run or your fiftieth! Take on the challenge for fun, to get fit or in memory of a loved one.

An unforgettable route awaits you, passing by favourite Manchester landmarks such as Manchester United’s football ground, The Imperial War Museum North and Beetham Tower.

We have places available for both the 10k and half marathon routes. Discounted charity places cost £30 for the 10k route and £35 for the half marathon route.

AJ Bell Great Manchester Run entries are open to runners who are aged 15+ (10k) and 17+ (half marathon) on the day of the event. Younger runners can enter the Junior or Mini Race the day before.

Whichever run you opt for, we will send you a running pack which includes a T-shirt or running vest, and our fundraising team will be here to support you every step of the way offering tips and guidance.

Run and raise funds

We encourage you to raise as much as you can in sponsorship from your family and friends! There is a minimum fundraising target of £100 for the 10K and £150 for the half marathon.

Your support will help us continue our work caring for children, teenagers and young people with life-shortening conditions and offering essential support, friendship and encouragement to their families.

Already have your own place?

Whichever way you register, we’ll be with you every step of the way. Our Fundraising Team will offer tips and guidance, plus materials including a free Francis House T-shirt or running vest, sponsorship forms, collection buckets, balloons and posters.
