Hallidays Director Runs Oslo Marathon

Nichola raises £500.

Runner

Hallidays Director, Nichola Coles completed her first marathon in Oslo, Norway raising more than £500, with donations continuing to roll in.

Keen runner, Nichola has previously completed shorter events, including the local ‘10km Big Stockport Run’ and the North Wales half marathon, but decided to raise the bar challenging herself to run a marathon.

Holiday training

In preparation for the big day, Nichola undertook more than 60 hours of training, running a total of 350 miles. Even going on holiday didn’t break her resolve, waking early to run laps of the running track on a cruise ship and forsaking the delights of the all-inclusive food and drink.

Director Nichola, chose to compete in the city of Oslo to best fit with her busy work schedule.

She said: “It was a fantastic day, I loved it! The hills were the biggest challenge and my stash of jelly beans gave me a much-needed energy boost. It felt amazing crossing the finishing line and I can’t wait to do it again. Thanks to everyone who supported me and gave a donation to support the valuable work of Francis House.”

Team support

The Stockport based Hallidays team, are proudly supporting Francis House over the next two years to help families to continue to receive the support that they need. Team members have now given around 140 hours of their time raising a total of £1,145.  In July, Lizzi Rutter and Chelsea Peacock, raised £600 by completing the Christie Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride.

Managing Director, Nigel Bennett said: “Huge respect and congratulations to Nichola completing her first marathon. At Hallidays, we like to challenge our team to step outside their comfort zones and Nichola has well and truly done that.”
