A family give something back at birthday celebration.
Irene Thomas held an 80th birthday party
We rely heavily on voluntary income to enable us to continue our work supporting children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
We are extremely grateful to all our of supporters and some have a very close connection to the hospice.
One such supporter is Irene Thomas who recently celebrated her 80th birthday. With help from daughter Denise, Irene and her family celebrated the milestone event with a party. But instead of accepting presents for herself, she asked all of her guests to donate in lieu of gifts.
Irene said: “My granddaughter Natalie Fitzhugh stayed at Francis House on many occasions before her death in 2014. She enjoyed her visits and we all have lovely memories of her special time there. I wanted to thank Francis House for their amazing support to Natalie and the whole family.”
Natalie’s mum Nicola Wood added: “It is nice to give a little back for all the wonderful times Natalie had at Francis House. She would have had a ball at my mum’s party, enjoying a Smirnoff ice and jigging away to the music.”
Thank you to Denise for helping to organsie the party and thanks to the generosity of family and friends for the donation of £400.
Natalie Fitzhugh attended Francis House.
“Thank you Francis House for continuing to do your wonderful work, you are all amazing!”
