Pre-school children from Kids Planet nurseries across the north west, took part in a sponsored story book listen and donated hundreds of pounds worth of books to Francis House.
Eighteen nurseries joined the ‘Ready Teddy Read’ project by Usborne Books in celebration of World Book Day.
Sponsorship from family and friends helped the nursery children raise an impressive total of £969. The money was used to purchase a beautiful array of picture, activity, sticker, educational and reading books for children of all ages at Francis House.
Organiser Kirsty Unsworth from Unny Bunny Books said: “I’m so glad I could be a part of this and am thrilled that the books have been well received. I am really pleased at the success of the project, not only have the nursery children and their carers enjoyed their own books in order to raise the sponsorship money to buy the Usborne books, but they have also passed on the pleasure of reading to the children, teenagers and their families at Francis House.”
