End of an era

Earlier in November, Gill Bevin retired as our Director of Care and Registered Manager after 18 years at Francis House.  Sharon Doodson took over as Registered Manager becoming only the third Director of Care to be appointed in the history of Francis House.

Sharon said: “I had ideas on how it was going to be taking over as the Registered Manager of Francis House and all that it would entail, but a global pandemic was not on my radar!”

Pride of Manchester

Long-standing hospice supporter Jim Nicholas got more than he bargained for when he was asked to attend a fundraising meeting at a hotel. Hiding behind the scenes was Coronation Street star and singer Kym Marsh ready to present him with a Pride of Manchester Award for Fundraiser of the Year.
