The London Marathon is one of the most popular events in the athletics calendar. Over 40,000 runners will take part in this famous 26.2 mile route and thousands of spectators will line the streets to cheer you on.

Places for the event in 2025 are highly sought after but we have several to allocate to dedicated supporters who feel they can commit to raising a minimum of £1,500. We also ask successful applicants to pay a registration fee of £100.

This target sometimes seems like a daunting figure – but there are endless ways of fundraising, from bake sales to corporate sponsorship and match funding. We are here to support you every step of the way!

I had the most incredible experience running the London Marathon 2024 .The atmosphere amongst runners was real comradery and the support and cheers from the crowd was non stop. Running for such a beautiful local charity has meant so much to me... the moment I struggled in the race, it gave me that extra drive.

Lucky enough to secure a place through the ballot?

If you’re one of the lucky few to secure your own race place, we’d love you to run for Francis House. There is no minimum sponsorship – we are truly grateful of any donations.

All Francis House marathon runners will receive ongoing support from the Fundraising Team including fundraising materials, a running vest, plus training and fundraising guidance.

It was an incredibly overwhelming day - running in memory of my brother who we only lost 11 months ago kept me going throughout the periods when it was a mental battle against myself. The amount of time Francis House have put into my family over the last 17 years is what kept me inspired from when I first started training.
