Anyone is encouraged to take on the 26.2 mile challenge! Participants include superb elite runners to those who thought completing a marathon would never be possible. Many regular runners find this the ideal event to get a personal best time, whilst everybody finds the incredible Mancunian support throughout the course unforgettable.

2026 saw a record-breaking 42,000 people take on the challenge, after final entries sold out months before. 2027 is set to be the biggest year yet!

Already secured a place?

If you have already secured a place in the Manchester Marathon, we would love for you to fundraise for us. Email the fundraising team at fundraising@francishouse.org.uk for your fundraising pack and running T-shirt.

There is no minimum fundraising target – just raise what you can to help us support over 500 families of children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

"I couldn’t contemplate not finishing the race as I was doing this in memory of beautiful Ava. The support the entire way around Manchester was electric. Seeing my children, friends and Ava’s wonderful family on the course spurred me on and I’d do it all over again for such a brilliant charity. "
