Please note volunteers will not be involved in direct childcare
Francis House has a team of 70 plus unpaid staff and volunteers who are essential to the smooth running of the Hospice.
To all of these people we are constantly grateful and send our thanks for their commitment and devotion to Francis House.
We are now seeking volunteers who can help cover our busy lunch time periods on Wednesdays and Fridays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
We also need help during teatime on Saturdays between 4.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.
If you can spare a few hours please get in touch.
You can volunteer to help in the following ways:
- In House – Volunteers carry out duties on reception and in the kitchen. To commence work in the hospice you must be between the ages of 18 and 70 (once you are over 75 your situation will be reviewed annually). Please note volunteers will not be involved in direct childcare activities.
- Fundraising – Volunteers can organise an event, help with collecting, public speaking or take part in fundraising activies.
- Charity Shop – Help in our charity shop at 184 Burnage Lane, Burnage, M19 1EF.
Please note: In order to maintain high standards of care for the families we invest a great deal of time in selecting and checking prospective volunteers. For this reason we ask that people applying are able to make a regular commitment for a minimum 12 month period.
