Our care team consists of Registered sick children’s nurses, general nurses, nursery nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, play specialists and creative therapists.

Sharon Doodson

Registered Manager and Director of Care

Sharon has a Diploma in Professional Nursing from Manchester University. She is a Registered Nurse – Adult branch (2009). Sharon also completed a Palliative Care Course in 2014.

Since qualifying Sharon has worked at Willow Wood Hospice, Accident and Emergency for Pennine Acute Trust and later became a District Nurse for Stockport NHS Foundation. Whilst on the District Nurse Team she became the Palliative Care Link Nurse. She joined the Francis House Team in February 2015 becoming a member of the Senior Team in December 2015. She was appointed Clinical Lead in September 2016 and Assistant to the Registered Manager in April 2020. Sharon became Registered Manager in November 2020.

Linda Flowers

Clinical Lead - Francis House

Linda qualified as a Nursery Nurse. NNEB. She also holds a dual qualification Registered Sick Children’s Nurse (RSCN) and Registered General Nurse (RGN). 

From qualifying Linda worked on the Neo Natal Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital moving on to the newly opened Children’s Surgical Unit where she was a Ward Sister for four years.  Her next post was community based working with adults.  In 2000 she joined the School Nursing Team.  Her work included the care of children in specialist schools.  She joined the Francis House team in 2008 and became a member of the Senior Team in 2012.  Linda took up her current role as one of the Clinical Leads in April 2018.  In April 2020 Linda became Clinical Lead at Francis House to allow Sharon Doodson to work alongside the Registered Manager.

Cerysa Doherty

Clinical Lead – Francis Lodge

Cerysa has a Diploma with Advanced Standing in Paediatric Nursing from Salford University.

Since qualifying Cerysa has worked in Paediatric Intensive Care at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Whilst on the PICU she cared for critically ill children with a wide range of complex conditions. She was also the Safeguarding Link Nurse and a member of the Student Education Team. Cerysa joined Francis House in February 2016 and became a member of the Senior Team in December 2018 her particular role was co-lead for Education. Cerysa was appointed Clinical Lead in April 2020.
