Our care team consists of Registered sick children’s nurses, general nurses, nursery nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, play specialists and creative therapists.
The Care team is led by Gill Bevin, she holds a dual qualification Registered Sick Children’s Nurse (RSCN) and Registered General Nurse (RGN).
Gill has over 30 years of nursing experience in the care of children and young adults. She worked previously at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital in a number of specialities including Intensive Care, Neurology, Oncology and Endocrinology. She began work at Francis House in 2002 and has worked on the Care team with additional time on the Homecare team and with the Seasons Sibling Support group. Gill was appointed Registered Manager and Director of Care in 2009. She has led the Care team through a time of major expansion and development of the service. In 2018 Gill reduced her working hours and whilst remaining the Registered Manger will share the Director of Care role with Tracey Potts.
Tracey has a dual qualification as an Enrolled General Nurse and Registered Sick Children’s Nurse she also has a Family Planning qualification and a Certificate in Counselling Skills.
Tracey previously worked for Stockport Health Authority on Adult Medical and Children’s Wards and as a School Nurse. She joined Francis House in 2002 working for four years on the Care team (including time on Bereavement Support). From 2006 to 2010 she worked for the Stockport Community Team before returning to Francis House. Shortly after her return she joined the Senior team and within two years became Clinical Lead at Francis Lodge and became Lead at Francis House in 2016. In 2018 Tracey reduced her hours and now shares the role of Director of Care with Gill Bevin, she also has responsibility for clinical matters at the residential facility 463.
Sharon has a Diploma in Professional Nursing from Manchester University. She is a Registered Nurse – Adult and completed a Palliative Care Course in 2014.
Since qualifying Sharon has worked at Willow Wood Hospice, Accident and Emergency for Pennine Acute Trust and for Stockport NHS Foundation as a District Nurse for people in their own homes. Whilst on the District Nurse team she was the Palliative Care Link Nurse. She joined the Francis House Team in February 2015 becoming a member of the Senior Team in December 2015. Sharon was appointed one of the Clinical Leads in September 2016.
Linda qualified as a Nursery Nurse. NNEB. She also holds a dual qualification Registered Sick Children’s Nurse (RSCN) and Registered General Nurse (RGN).
From qualifying Linda worked on the Neo Natal Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital moving on to the newly opened Children’s Surgical Unit where she was a Ward Sister for four years. Her next post was community based working with adults. In 2000 she joined the School Nursing Team. Her work included the care of children in specialist schools. She joined the Francis House team in 2008 and became a member of the Senior Team in 2012. Linda took up her current role as one of the Clinical Leads in April 2018.
